St. Louis County Police Precinct #2 & Intelligence Center.

Project Overview

A 49,000 sf, Risk Category IV public safety complex with redundant power, dual UPS systems, and the full electrical infrastructure for the County's mission-critical operations.

D&R Electric provided the complete electrical and technology systems installation for the new St. Louis County Police Precinct #2, Intelligence Center, and Property Control Facility — a 49,000-square-foot mission-critical public safety complex in Maryland Heights, Missouri. Built to Risk Category IV standards, the facility is engineered to remain fully operational under any condition, serving as a base for the County's police force, criminal intelligence operations, and secure evidence and property storage.

At the core of the project is a redundant power and emergency distribution system designed for uninterrupted operation. D&R installed a new 2,000-amp, 277/480V electrical service in coordination with Ameren, backed by a 1,500 kW standby generator with a 24-hour on-site fuel supply and a dedicated tap box for temporary generator connection. The facility's most critical operations — the intelligence center, data rooms, and secure areas — are further protected by dual UPS systems and multiple automatic transfer switches that separate life-safety, standby, and critical power, keeping the building online through any utility disruption.

Beyond power distribution, D&R delivered the building's LED lighting and networked lighting controls, addressable fire alarm system, and a complete grounding and bonding network, including a dedicated telecommunications grounding backbone and raised-floor bonding for the data spaces. D&R also installed the full electrical infrastructure supporting the facility's advanced security and technology systems — access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, emergency-responder radio (DAS), structured cabling, and distributed audio/visual and paging. Exterior scope included parking-lot lighting, illuminated signage, automated security gates, and EV charging stations.

As an MBE-certified, IBEW Local 1 union contractor, D&R Electric was proud to deliver this essential public safety facility for the St. Louis County community.
